Wortley Cottage Guest House is in the centre of the South Yorkshire Pennine village of Wortley. It is adjoined to the Village Post Office & Shop which Tony & Su also run.
We have three guest rooms, all with en-suite shower rooms. All guest rooms are on the first floor. Two rooms are doubles, The third can be setup as a Twin/Double or even Triple room. We have a cot/bed and highchair available.
We welcome pets, but only take bookings over the phone as we don't allow pets in all rooms.

The building was formally the main farm in the village till the mid 1800's. It was then converted into a village shop with living accommodation and was part Stocksbridge Co-operative Society . Over the years the Post Office & Shop have been in various parts of the building. In the 1990's the living accommodation was converted into a Guest House to help provide additional income to support the Post Office & Shop.
Tony & Su took over the running of the business in 2009, they have updated the guest rooms and facilities with out upsetting the traditional feel of the property.

The building is difficult to access via wheelchair. We have steps to all entrances and there is a flight of stairs with twin handrails to the first floor where the guest rooms are located.
The showers in each room have differing heights, due again to the nature of the building.
Having said that, our daughter who has mobility problems, uses a rollator and mobility scooter to get around the village.
